It doesn't need to be lethal (I think).
I haven't heard about it recently, but apparently it's considered "macho" or something to ingest venom (people with ulcers beware).

I'm not sure they could be milked easily anyway - they are rear-fanged, I believe the normal transmission is venom is released into their saliva which they chew into the victim.

Not two seconds after I took the shot, the Florida (brooksi) King tried to eat the MBK.
I kind of was expecting him to try, and was ready to get him out fast.
