Looking for a new mouse. Which one do you use?
My long time favorite mouse is starting to act up. I think its due to bad batterycontacts on the inside but I'm not sure. The mouse I have now is the Logitech Mouseman optical
with three buttons (one under my righthand thumb) and a scrollwheel. I've been looking a bit at the MX Revolution but it would be interesting to know what you, my fellow Macusers, are using and what u think of your mice.
Now, where in the name of... did I put that thing that I forgot what it was and why I was looking for it?

I have been using Microsoft cordless for a long time, it has been flawless. All I do is replace the batteries about every six months.

Hope and change could be forever.

Re: Looking for a new mouse. Which one do you use?
Well well, while I was expecting more answers to my question it doesnt matter much now. Thanks to help from other Macusers, sadly not at this forum, I made my choice and bought a Logitech MX1000 and I love it. I did get some pain in my elbow at first but that soon disapeared when I lowered the armrest on my chair and removed my rather thick and unnessesary mousepad (1cm thick with lights
). I still feel I need something with better glide under the mouse than just my raw desk - any ideas on that?

Logitech G5. Best mouse there is if your looking for no-lag, precision tracking mouse. Cordless mice are nice, but way too much lag for me.

Kensington Expert Mouse
I started using a trackball about 10 years ago when my mouse broke and the only other input device in the office was a trackball in the back of the closet. After a couple hours of frustration I was hooked. When it comes to getting work done, I can't live without a trackball. Since then I've tried other brands but Kensington is the only company that makes usable trackballs, IMO.

I've worn through a few MS InteliMice, and now I'm using an Logitech MX Revolution. All in all, I'm a fan. The industrial design is quite good and it was the year's most favorably reviewed mouse when it debuted a year or two ago.
That said, Logitech's drivers are annoying to setup.
And whatever you do, don't buy a Mighty Mouse. I can't hate those things enough.

Yeah, the mighty mouse scroll ball is too easy to gum up, I had to throw my 1st one away because no amount of cleaning would fix it

Impressive, it's been a while since I've seen a die hard trackball user.

I've got one of those, too, and I love it. I still have to switch back to a regular mouse for games, though.

Re: Looking for a new mouse. Which one do you use?
I used to use a TheMouseBT, but I lost the BT dongle for my (ancient) iMac, so I went back to using an old SGI mechanical mouse. It drives me nuts, I have to clean the rollers about every two months to get it working smoothly, again.
I never believed the Mighty Mouse paradigm, not trusting the left/right click mechanism, but ever since actually using one, I'm convinced. I'm gonna get me a wireless Mighty Mouse later this week.

Kensington Si670m
No complaints so far. It works nice and feels nice despite the awkward look.

My #1 mouse: Corded Mighty Mouse (I want a BT version but the damn thing keeps working with regular cleaning.)
#2: a Microsoft cordless intelimouse circa 2001 (It has held up a lot better than any of my other intelimice)
#3: BT apple pro mouse AKA bar of soap (this was for my laptop ... but my girlfriend has since stolen it.)
I also have a wacom graphire 6x8 (i believe) corded for when I have to do alot of graphics.

Logitech MX 1000. They don't make it anymore nor do they have a superior offering now. So I hope this thing never dies.

Re: Looking for a new mouse. Which one do you use?
8 years ago my last Apple roller ball mouse died on me abruptly while I was in the middle of a pressing project. I ran down to the closest Staples and grabbed the cheapest Logitech optical they had, knowing that I could count on it working with my Mac, figuring it would be good enough to get me thru the project and I would buy a better one when it crapped out.
Well....here I sit using that same damn mouse. The logo and rubber pads wore off years ago but I'll be damned if it doesnt still work like new.
Not bad for a $15.00 mouse.

Ditto here, but minus the pressing project.

Re: Looking for a new mouse. Which one do you use?
Once again, I must be the only person in the world who uses and loves the Macally Ioptinet mouse. I tried a cordless Apple mouse for a while, but it ate up batteries, and I just don't feel right thinking about all those spent batteries going into landfills anyway.

Re: Looking for a new mouse. Which one do you use?
I have a Macbook Pro, so the MX Revolution is a little bit too big for me. However, I have it's younger sibling, the VX Revolution, which I absolutely love. It's designed very well, responsive, and definitely not too small or big - it's the perfect size! The only complaint I would have about it is that it's RF...so it requires you to stick in the little receiver thing, but other than that it's great.

Re: Looking for a new mouse. Which one do you use?
I was thinking about the mighty mouse this morning ... and thought about how awesome it would be if it had a 1cm squared touch screen instead of the ball.
