Stupidest Movie Ever

I remember seeing Four Dogs Playing Poker which I mark as possibly the worst movie I've ever seen.  Can you say plot hole?  Can you say bad acting?  Worst of all it featured Tim Curry and Forest Whitaker, who I consider to be pretty good actors.  I got done with that one and wanted those 97 minutes back.

What movie(s) have you seen that you think were a waste of time and film?

I didn't see it, but anything involving or related to Norbit has to be considered a huge waste of time.

Awwww...I liked it.

I think the Hottie and the Nottie is the stupidest movie ever. Paris Hilton is in it (which reminds me...did you know that the majority of her filmography is in the Bottom 100 of iMDb? Her highest rated film is Raising Helen, and she's not even the star. Anyway....) and I felt stupid after watching the first few second of the trailer.

Though I haven't seen it. It could be a masterpiece. But most masterpieces do not shoot to the top of the bottom 100 on iMDb..

Dracula: Dead and Loving It

All of the good jokes (and I use the term 'good' very loosely) were in the trailer and there were even good jokes that were in the trailer and weren't in the movie!

Anchorman.

I have raised the ire of more than one friend for not declaring this movie the greatest comedy ever. I guess I'd rather have taste than friends.

True, though if I had no expectations, I probably would have thought it was just bad.

Terrible movies I've seen, or seen part of
- Supernova (I actually went to go see it because I expected it to be a modern masterpiece of hilarious awfulness)
- Ultraviolet (I've seen music videos with more plot and coherence)
- The Libertine (oh French art-house erotica, you have let me down)

I still believe in liberalism today as much as I ever did, but, oh, there was a happy time when I believed in liberals.

Re: Stupidest Movie Ever

One of my favorite short reviews was for "Ultraviolet":

Anyway, we went to "Ultraviolet" so you won't have to. It was awful. Next time you go, okay?

I went to see a pre-release screening of "Exorcist III" so it wasn't the same version that was eventually released. It was one of the few times after which I seriously thought: "I want my 2-1/2 hours back."

Re: Stupidest Movie Ever

Actually, I will make an honest effort and propose that "Wild Wild West" was a waste of silver or pixels or whatever it was they used to crank that out. Contributing to that was the stupid decision to cast Will Smith as James West. Adding to that was having James West appear in drag. Artemous could do that and it's OK because he was the comic foil.

But James West is supposed to be the James Bond of the OK Corral. He's the MAN.

I think it was called Redline. It was the generic summer smurf for retarded teenagers. Me and a friend walked into it after watching some other movie.

Redline -

Re: Stupidest Movie Ever

I think to be legitimately bad, a movie has to start off with pretensions of being good.

Bad movies by bad studios, bad directors, writers and actors are far too numerous to single out.

Ever sat through the original "Heaven's Gate"?  Unbelievable.

"Gigli" was bad, but not as bad as the scorn heaped on it. But still bad.

"1941" was terrible.

Sophia Coppola almost singlehandedly destroyed an otherwise adequate "Godfather" sequal. I'm pleased she's now behind that camera, doing much better work.

Re: Stupidest Movie Ever

"First Blood" was on TV a few weeks ago.
I think I saw it in the theater when it came out (I was probably 13 or so).

Seeing it again made me wonder how I could have watched that thing and not find it utterly idiotic. (I don't recall liking very much as a 13 years-old, but I don't think I recognized the stupidity of it).

Most Stallone movies are stupid. I guess he got lucky with Rocky, but the rest is garbage.

I also have the unpopular opinion that Star Wars (and all sequels and prequels) are very, very stupid.

I didn't think First Blood or Cop Land was garbage. And the recent Rambo revived the "avenging angel" theme in an effective way-for me anyway.

Does Sound of Music get the honours there for being bad or only because its so detested by so many? And then there's Titanic (despite the CG effects) and its song (they're a package deal) sung by the freakish Dion.

Anchorman. The only video I returned without watching even 3/4 of it. Just stupid, man.

Re: Stupidest Movie Ever

Oh, yeah, I had forgotten about the one movie I've walked out on.

It was 1983, my friend and I went to see Hercules starring Lou Ferrigno (yes, the Incredible Hulk from the TV show).  Don't ask me why.

They rewrote Greek Mythology to fit the story they wanted to tell, which was pretty bad.  But when the witch and Hercules fell into the middle of the ocean and he asked why she didn't just use her magic to get them back to shore she says, tearfully, "You made me fall in love with you and I've lost my powers!"

"That's it!" we said and walked out.

I had no idea how truly bad it was until I saw Red Planet. MUCH more entertaining.

Re: Stupidest Movie Ever

Definitely not worst movie ever (that requires too much thought for an undeserving subject), but Premonition starring Sandra Bullock was pretty bad. On the plus side, the bonus footage on the dvd was AWESOME- if they had released the movie including that scene, it would be one of my favorites ever.

On the Brady Movie- we rented it once and my wife woke me up in the middle of the night talking in her sleep, I asked her what was wrong and she said "its always Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!"

There is a horribly bad movie with Chuck Norris that is so bad it rules called Firewalker. I seriously love that movie, even though I know it is terrible.

My brother and I always thought it was really odd that when they are running from the Nazi's in the Sound of Music the score uses the same songs that are sung happily in other parts of the movie ("...jam and bread!!!!" etc).
