Re: Issues found with US SSB Brawl
After I received my first replacement wii, the console completely died after updating.
Upon calling Nintendo, some stupid twit that I got on the phone suggested that it was my fault the console broke--because I was using 3rd party component cables.
Of course I quickly got someone else on the line that wasn't a complete moron and they sent me out a second replacement system....

Re: Issues found with US SSB Brawl
Is the Wii's laser just extra sensitive? I just popped a brand new game in today for my son to play (it's only been out of the case twice now), and even though there are no scratches at all on it, it wouldn't get past the in-game loading screen. I had to wash the fingerprints off to get it to work (no, not peanut butter fingerprints either, just greasy kid's prints).
If anyone cares, it's the Disney Chicken Little game.
I have had it on the road twice now, packed tightly in a messenger bag type case, with my controllers and games. I hope it didn't get jarred or dusty in my trunk. It was pretty well sealed up and cushioned.

...sigh.. "Allow."

Not very much disc-based software works on discs with any major damages or dirtiness.

Ordinary fingerprints are major damage?

when the amino acids start to eat through the plastic, yeah.
otherwise the disc is just dirty, therefore unreadable.

...which is hardly major damage.
Perhaps you should take to heart the old saw about 'a little knowledge.'
