How do I change the name of my shared network connection?
Here's the setup:
I have a mac mini running OS X 10.5 on a university campus. It actually belongs to our lab, but I was the one who installed the OS, and for all purposes, the administrator. It has a dedicated IP through the ethernet interface. I set up internet connection sharing through the wireless interface, so that the mac mini is also acting as a wireless router for some of the notebook PCs we have in the lab. As far as functionality, the wireless connection sharing is working just fine. My problem is that the wireless network name is being broadcast as "<my name>'s mac mini". This is not desirable for a couple of reasons, one of which being that the computer does not belong to me, and this will be even more inappropriate when I leave the lab later this year. I am still fairly new to the Mac platform, and was unable to figure out where I might change the name of the SSID for the wireless network.
