Beige G3
Has anyone ever put 450 from B & W G3 into Beige G3? Anyone up the bus speed (system bus) on the Beige G3? Like going from 66 to 70 or 75? Any memory issues from switching system bus?

Re: Beige G3
Both the Beige G3s and Blue&White G3s used the ZIF CPU slots so you shouldn't have any problems using the B&W's CPU in the Beige's CPU slot.
Considering that the next step in bus speed is 100 MHz, I'm not sure what you would get by bumping the bus speed to 75.
Depending on what you are doing with the Beige G3, you might get much more improvement in speed by replacing the CPU with a G4 such as one of these offered by Other World Computing (there is also a 1 GHz G3).

I have Blue and White g3 450 chip that I can put in there. Do I put the old heat sink from the beige back in there and ground it back on the mobo or put the blue and white heat sink on it?

I'm not sure, quite frankly. It's been over 8 years since I've looked into my Beige minitower, and I don't know if the B&W's heat sink would be that much different. Depending on how it's held on, you may not have much of a choice if the B&W's hardware for the heat sink differs from the Beige's hardware.

Re: Beige G3
The Beige Heat Sink ought to do fine. The HS from the B&W, if it fits, couldn't hurt.
The 450 will run @ 4.5x66 MHz initially (300 MHz.) Running at 83 MHz Bus speed will help, but depending on what you have other things set to, it might over/underclock your PCI bus. Better to see if you can adjust the multiplier (soldering probably required.)
