I know, but as the lawyer he will get to do about half of the talking (with the judge and his opposing lawyer doing the rest). In the jury you MUST listen while the court is in session--no nodding off, no talking to your neighbor, no reading, etc.

Oh I've sat through enough trials as an observer to know that they can become extremely boring at points.

I'm more talking about the process of deliberating with the other jury members.

Well, jury deliberation ain't 12 Angry Men. Usually it's not much more interesting than the trial.

Re: went to jury duty

I've been to jury duty twice, and both times had to serve on the jury. I guess I look like a nice guy or something. The second time I even said I wasn't sure if I could be objective  on the particular case (hoping to get out of the case - but also being honest) and they STILL called me and had me serve on the case (as an alternate at least).

Though, I actually enjoyed the experience. You learn a lot in a jury. You get to see the inner workings of a court case, and also are in on the deliberations and get to actually argue the case and hear the objections being raised as well as make the objections yourself.

Granted, this would change if I had to serve for more than a week or so..

Were you able to talk at length?

Aw, he's no fun, he fell right over.

Unless you become as little children, there's no way you will believe this crap.
