Macbook Screen Chipping
So, the space bar has been chipping away at my Macbook's screen (whilst the computer is shut, inside a bag). Sadly enough, it has left a chip on the the glossy finish of the LCD. Normally I wouldn't care about a small thing like this, but this chip is quite noticeable on my display. Are there any products out there that will cure this problem?

Hmmmm...... this could be a very good time to call Apple. Could this situation be covered under warranty ?

Well, the glossy screen is a smooth surface, and the iBooks and PowerBooks did have problems with their keyboards marring the surfaces of their matte screens when the screen was closed. My guess is that such would be inevitable without some protection between the keyboard and the screen, whether matte or glossy.
It may be sufficient to place a piece of paper over the keyboard before closing the MacBook in order to prevent further damage, but you may have to talk to Apple to see about what might be done to repair or replace it.
Can I ask how old your MacBook is?

Yeah, but that was years ago. My Pismo had the marks but they were just finger grease that would wipe off with a damp cloth. They added an extra couple mm and solved that problem waay back. This definitely ain't right. Talk to Apple.

Actually, no. The marks were not finger grease: they were parts on the screen which were worn down by the keys rubbing against the screen when it was closed, usually when placed in a bag and the screen becomes subject to a bit of flexing (even with the extra space). I haven't seen any MBs or MBPs with such, but I'm fairly sure that I have seen late models of PBs with this problem

Re: Macbook Screen Chipping
The Macbook was bought last August. There are a series of little chips on the screen, but there is one that stands out, even with the backlight on. I'll give Apple a call this weekend.
