4 button iPod dead?
Quick story:
- sister gets new iPod and gives old 4 button iPod to mother
- mother plugs iPod in to the wall and after an hour of charging, heats up A LOT
- I come along and try every reset/reboot method in the books to no avail
I've plugged it in to the wall and a couple different computers and get nothing. The dang thing won't turn on or respond at all. I'm assuming it's time to retire the thing, as it'd probably cost as much to fix it as it would to buy a nano or something for my mom's modest music collection. Any suggestions? Thanks.

If she doesn't want video, get a first/second gen for cheap.
Thanks for clicking.

i agree, i don't think your mother would be so much into putting pictures or watching videos in her ipod. if she's all about the music, then i guess a first/second gen ipod would be good. that's if you're on a tight budget that is.

You could try the Apple refurb store for a deal.
