connect 5th gen ipod to Sony receiver (de197)
receiver does not have mp3 player port.

The receiver should have an auxiliary section on the back (two RCA plugs). You will need a 1/8 to RCA adapter to connect to it.

It's only got CD, MD/TAPE, and 2 video inputs. Do you have them filled up? They're not specific to those uses, you know. The only one you usually have to be aware of is phono, which is rarely a generic line level input like the rest of em.

I should have noted that I use TAPE on amp and it works fine.
