The end of an era
I've decided not to renew my subscription to Mac|Life. It just doesn't really have the same appeal anymore. I've been a subscriber since MacAddict issue #15, or thereabouts, and i still have every one, but, since he change to Mac|Life, i haven't really felt the same about the mag. I don't really get excited over the prospect of reading the latest issue anymore. So, i have decided to let my subscription lapse. Bye Mac|Life, it's been a good ride.

Ya. I feel the same way, although I just caught the last 12 issues of MacAddict. I miss all the old crew - it just does not have the same appeal any more. Quite honestly, Wired is a lot more interesting these days.

Mhmm... Thats why i've decided to stop subscribing to MacLife. It just isn't as good as it used to be, and i can always grab a coy off the newsstand if i really want to read a specific issue.

Since the change I don't even pick up the magazine to flip through it when I see it on the news stand anymore.

I'm thinking about subscribing to Wired. It's only $10, and you get "Wired", instead of, "Mac Centric Wired, but with Weak Content"

Hm. Personally I think that Wired has fallen even farther than Mac(Addict/Life) has. I rarely find anything interesting that isn't covered in the dumbest possible way in Wired.

I just want them to cover doing things with non-professional grade applications. Less with Photoshop and more with Graphic Converter.

I was just gonna get a summer intern with a twitter account and webcam strapped to their heads. You twitter what you want him/her to do and BAM! it happens.

Re: The end of an era
My current sub. ends in november. I'm not going to renew it since I dont think its worth it. If there'd been some subscriber-only material worth reading I might think of renewing, but there isnt. Im going to get a subscription of a homeimprovement and design-magazine. I get all my nesesary Mac- and technews from various online sources.
Now, where in the name of... did I put that thing that I forgot what it was and why I was looking for it?

Re: The end of an era
I'm keeping my subscription. I'll keep paying. I miss Max. I miss the back page. I miss the irreverence, but it's still a cooler magazine than Macworld. I guess now that Macs are mainstream, the powers that be have decided the magazine should be dull as dirt, too. Shame, that.
I miss the old review ratings, mostly. If something sucks, you should say it sucks.

++ again. I miss the old forums.
Problem is the company who owns MacLife,
and hold on this is going to hurt:
DOES NOT GIVE A DAMN.
It's been covered in other threads and in the forum, forum, forum.
Get used to it.
I used to love coming here multiple times a day, partaking of the community sense and hanging out with fellow like minded individuals. Then things changed, and were were told it would get better. Then things changed again and we were told the same thing.
Now we are told to get used to it, or get on the road.
S'long MacAddict. It's been real.
