Mac Pro Boot With Tiger?
I am seriously considering buying a Mac Pro .... If at all possible, I would like to be able to dual boot, with Leopard or Tiger. Is it possible to boot a Mac Pro with Tiger, from an internal HD or external FW HD? If there is no way possible to boot a Mac Pro from Tiger, is there an emulator that will allow me to run most (or all?) of my old apps that I’ve been running on my iBook G4 1Ghz (running Tiger)? Thanks.

Re: Mac Pro Boot With Tiger?
Maybe, but note that Apple has in the past set up hardware limits to prevent newer Macs from being able to work with older OSes. According to MacTracker (donationware), the current Mac Pros come with Tiger 10.4.9 or newer so this may not be a problem for the moment.
On the other hand, I'm not sure if the change from Tiger 10.4 to Leopard 10.5 is so substantial that all of your current apps should work under Leopard. I have a Mac Book Pro with 10.5.2 on it--is there an app that you suspect won't work under Leopard that I can try for you?

One thing that's very annoying about dual-booting Leopard and Tiger is that each time you switch between the two, each OS will rebuild the spotlight indices of all the drives or partitions that were previously indexed by the other version.
