MBP RAM speeds... WHA?!?!?
So, I've been doing the "Which generation should I buy?" MBP shuffle lately, and I noticed something odd today at the Apple Store:
The NEW "Penryn" based MBP are supposed to be powered by DDR2-800MHz RAM, right? Well, for those of you that have recently received one of the new boxes, please do this for me...
I went to the Apple menu, and choose "About this Mac..." See if in the window that pops up what speed your RAM is running at... does it say 667MHz?
Now do this: Click the button that reads: "More Info...", and go into the portion of the specs that show the RAM speed. I bet you are surprised by the same thing I was: NOW it shows 800MHz!
WHAT THE?!?
I'm wondering if anyone else can duplicate this behavior...

[EDIT: I realize that there are those who will dismiss this as FSB vs. RAM speed indication, but let me reiterate - that is NOT what I saw. I saw 667MHz supposedly running in a 800MHz RAM/FSB machine. Apple Store emplyoees (including Genius) were stumped when I brought it to their attention.]
