MacBook external monitor?

After 10 years of using my G3 beige desktop, I'm making the jump to a MacBook (thank you Economic Stimulus check!!)  I know I'll get the bends from this transition, but my question here relates to using an external monitor.  Since we're keeping the G3 for some workhorse home stuff, it seems that it may be nice to use that monitor off the laptop from time to time.  Is it worth going through that trouble?  I have the same monitor from 10 years ago--17" Optiquest Q71.  I'm also not sure I can even get an adapter that could go from the mini-DVI to whatever it is that plugs into my G3.  (I'd look, but I'd have to move a lot of crap!)

Thanks,

Dante

Re: MacBook external monitor?

All you would need is a mini-DVI to VGA adapter. Apple sells one for $19.

Re: MacBook external monitor?

Thanks.  For $19 I might as well get one!
