iPhone plays songs out of album order...
My iPhone won't play album tracks in their correct order. It's really annoying, given my huge collection of prog rock albums, which usually have themes (Pink Floyd's the wall, or Dream Theater's Six Degrees, for instance). I am, however, speaking of EVERY album. Everything plays fine in iTunes.
I'm not using the shuffle feature, nor have I screwed with any file metadata.
This includes albums I've purchased from the iTunes music store with the last two weeks.
I'm stumped, and google seems to prove useless for finding a solution.
Any ideas?

Open a song. any song. when the song is playing touch the middle of the screen (where the album art is being displayed. when the phone is vertical) it will then show you the playhead position. check to make sure the "shuffle" icon on the right side is not blue.
mine got pressed one time by accident and it drove me crazy.

Re: iPhone plays songs out of album order...
Ah, SmartGuy!
That did it. Strange... I thought shuffle was turned on by selecting shuffle in the list view? Well, this explains why shuffle in list view only seemed to "reshuffle" the play order. I, too am scratching my ead wondering how the hell I managed to turn on shuffling, and why it seems such an obscure thing on this device.
Anyway, I know to look out for it, now.
Thanks!

That is exactly what i thought too.
I'd consider it a flaw.
another flaw is that when you are in a playlist and you turn it on it's side, it displays the coverflow for the entire library, not just the playlist. i don't like that either.

Re: iPhone plays songs out of album order...
Speak of turning the phone horizontally, should Apple give this ability to all applications which use the keypad, and not Safari only?
Have you ever noticed how much easier it is to type in Safari with the phone on its side, what with the wider, better-spaced horizontal keypad? I wonder why they didn't do this for all the key-input apps. Seems a bit short-sighted.

It is easier. but the problem with some places is that the horizontal keyboard takes up SO MUCH of the screen, you can't see barely any of the text box you're typing in or the buttons around it you need to hit.
i just get used to typing vertically.

Yeah, but I'd still like the option of flipping it on its side, especially considering it is just an option. I can't imaging it's difficult to implement, as they already have in one application, and so have third-party developers.
