If you are buying a MBP, great deal inside this post...

Just got my package today.  Awesome deal.

If you order a previous generation (Santa Rosa) based MacBook Pro 2.4GHz, go through Apple Store on line, and click on the Education Store.

Go to the Clearance section.

This MBP (2.4GHz, 2GB RAM, 160GB, 256MB VRAM, SuperDrive, Matte Screen)  is only $1699!   Free shipping, or you can have it next-day for $27.

Got my 4GB RAM upgrade for $69 from 18004memory.

THIS MACHINE SCREAMS. Total cost (including tax and accessories): $1889.21

I ordered it and they didn't even ask for my UNLV ID.  I am a student, but as far as I can tell, they don't even check for online ordering...

They don't. But me, the honest guy that I am, just recently bought  a MBP, and didn't declare myself as a student.

I guess I was just hoping to save people a few bucks with the economy tanking... shrug

I must say that it was a thrill to buy it with my student discount though.  It's the first time I haven't paid retail for an Apple product since I stopped working for Jobs & co. 4 years ago.

I'm going back to school this summer to do some film classes, and Final Cut Studio  is just kickin' butt on this MBP! :-)
