Zone Alarm Free + XP on Boot Camp Issues

Has anyone attempted to install Zone Alarm Free on Boot Camp, and if so, with what success?

I have a MacBook Pro 2.5 with nearly equal partitions.  While the Windows side runs well without ZAF, two things happened when I installed it.

First, I had to install it through VMware Fusion, as when I would install through Boot Camp, it would restart as requested, but would not allow Windows to complete its load.  Instead, it would hang before displaying the task bar.  So, I used Safe Mode to uninstall it.

Second, after installing through Fusion, Windows would load, but certain task bar and Apple processes (i.e., that allow Windows to function on the MMP) would not load.  Of course, ZAF must be limiting their access somehow, but I cannot figure out where or why.

Any advice or suggestions is extremely appreciated.
