The big question is.....
Do I buy an 8GB black iPhone or go for the 16GB in white (or black)? The only thing that makes me really want to go for the larger of the two is third party apps. I can see myself loading my iPhone with them. I'm not worried about holding my music, I have my iPod for that.
I am wondering what you guys think of the white? Pictures usually don't do justice to white apple products so it may be a in store decision for me. I won't have it in a case and the white would probably hide scratches better but the black looks a little more professional IMHO. Any ideas? Does anyone know the size of the third party apps because if they aren't big 16GB may be too much
I hate having such damn hard decisions

Re: The big question is.....
I don't want a white one simply because I want a black case... I made that mistake once before with my 1st gen iPod Nano.
If you want to feel special about having a semi-limited edition-esque colour then by all means get the white one. (or unless you want it to match your white MacBook or iMac)
All in all I want the 16GB, mostly due to the fact that I want photos, music, movies, games, apps...

Re: The big question is.....
I like my phones large and black, like my coffee. 8 GB has worked fine for me for a year tho. I've got plenty of music, plenty of photos, and a couple movies. 8GB is a lot of storage for a phone and I'm sure either would work fine for you.
My big question is, what the hell do I do with my old one? I was going to give it to my wife to replace her crappy old phone, even tho she doesn't need all the features. But then I realized I'd need to buy 2 data plans for 2 iPhones. That hadn't even occured to me.

Re: The big question is.....
It would match my MacBook but I think i've decided on the black. My co-worker has a white blackberry which he uses a lot and it's full of dirt and grime so I figure the black will hide that. Now that AT&T released the plans today I'm a little confused. I am an existing customer but the way I read it, it seemed to me that I would have to pay $399 for the 8GB and $499 for the 16GB
Is that right? What does buying before the 11th mean also. Is that for the old iPhone? I think i'll be making a trip to AT&T today!

I believe that is what it says. My account info says they'll give me discount pricing on any phone but the iPhone. smurf that, then. Oh well.

Yep that's how it is. I went to AT&T and your contract has to be within the final 6 months where you can renew to get the discounted pricing. I'm a little disappointed but not surprised. I'm on a family plan right now and i'm wondering if we change our contract we will qualify. We have WAY to many monthly minutes especially with rollover. Too bad I didn't think of that in the store

I can't see the App Store applications consuming too much extra space. I read somewhere that apps under 10mb would be downloaded directly to the iPhone while larger ones would be downloaded by your computer then synced over. This leads me to believe that most apps will be around ~10mb with some being larger (games).
