Phil "Whiners" Gramm calls it quits
Phil Gramm leaves John McCain's campaign
"It is clear to me that Democrats want to attack me rather than debate Senator McCain on important economic issues facing the country," Gramm said. "That kind of distraction hurts not only Senator McCain's ability to present concrete programs to deal with the country's problems, it hurts the country. To end this distraction and get on with the real debate, I hereby step down as co-chair of the McCain campaign and join the growing number of rank-and-file McCain supporters."
Personally, I'm surprised that humorless toad even got such a high-ranking position in the first place.
So will this affect the campaign at all, or is it just a minor bump in the road?

It'll help because he was just a ticking time bomb for his next bit of crassness..
Got to love that he's actually placing blame on the Dems.

I'm glad this news broke, because it kind of explains why McCain seemed so out of touch in his economic concerns.

But the attacks are all the Democrats' fault...
QUESTION: What did Iraqi have to do with that?
BUSH: What did Iraq have to do with what?
QUESTION: The attacks upon the World Trade Center.
BUSH: Nothing

Wasn't he just brought back into the fold yesterday?

Yeah, but they flip flopped. It's kind of a trend in their campaign, in case you've not noticed

It's hardly different than Obama.
Don't gloat, he'll probably have another next week himself.

Actually Obama generally seems to at least provide a half way plausible explanation for his changes. Some of them could be a bit more plausible or expressed a bit sooner though.

You know there are multiple elements that hardly could apply without it discounting the other elements, kev.
He hardly has a halfway plausible explanation?
He hardly could be more plausible?
He hardly could express his thinking on the subject sooner?

I would just like a week to go by without listening to the news and saying "what was that dumbass thinking".
I've gone from thinking either of them would be a step up to "here we go again".

I often go "what was that dumbass thinking" to "why didn't he just say that sooner" for Obama.

McCain chaired Phil Gramm's Presidential campaign in 1996. Quid pro quo.

Never liked Phil Gramm, even when he was available for me to vote for or against.
The prime example of why you don't want to point fingers is Phil Gramm, they usually end up pointing back at you.
Started as a Democrat and changed parties. So what was he thinking?
