New ATI Catalyst/Reference Drivers (8.7)
New ATI Reference Drivers [July 21, 2008, 3:30 pm ET]
The AMD Drivers & Software Page is your starting place to find the new version 8.7 Catalyst reference drivers for ATI Radeon accelerators. The new Windows drivers offer performance improvements, bug fixes, and an enhancement to the Catalyst Control Center Information Center. The Linux drivers add support for Ubuntu 8.04, SLED 10 sp2, and Open Suse 11.
Thanks Bluesnews.

If you actually have an ATI card, Mobility Modder will allow you to install the Catalyst drivers.

I can install them just fine, it just never launches the CCC to allow me to do any configuration. There are a lot of people with the same problem with the Catalyst drivers and Vista.

I would suggest installing the reference driver alone, then trying Ray Adams' Ati Tray Tools.

Now my dilemma: should I use Mobility Modder to install this or wait and see if AMD updates their Boot Camp drivers? And will there be any point for my MobilityHD2400XT?

Cool.

I'd guess the BC drivers are updated once in a blue moon. For the last few years ATi has released new Cats once a month, even adding a 13th 'Xmas present' driver late Dec. '05 that first enabled Avivo.
Your call. Maybe the release notes would help?
