Does McCain have Alzheimer's or other dementia ?
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/8/14 … 531/567966
One in eight people, 65 or older, have Alzheimer's disease. That's 13% of the demographic. Another study shows that 11% of men age 71 or older have dementia.
Symptoms include: (the quoted material is an amalgamation of material from the link)

On the campaign trail this cycle, McCain frequently forgets key elements of policies, gets countries' names wrong, forgets things he's said only hours or days before and is frequently just confused. Any single example is inevitable for someone talking so constantly day in and day out. But the profusion of examples shows a pattern. Some of this is probably a matter of general unseriousness or lack of interest in policy areas like the economy that he doesn't care much about."
Confabulation: It's not lying. Sort of.
If you ask a person with a memory disorder what he said or did yesterday, he is apt to just make something up; to create a false memory.
Inappropriate Behavior
People with dementia may display uninhibited or inappropriate behavior such as telling off color jokes at a funeral, or wandering around naked on their front lawn.
Delusional Behavior
Sometimes confabulation is also seen with delusions or false beliefs. In this same interview, McCain claimed he was right in his pre-war prediction that Americans would be greeted in Iraq as liberators. In fact, he stated unequivocally, "We were greeted as liberators." Of course, we were not. Patients with this condition are not aware their memories are not true, and may act on them. McCain's ads attacking Obama contain many lies, such as claiming "He will raise taxes on the middle class." This is not true, Obama's tax cuts to the middle class are nine times as great as McCain's. Yet McCain keeps repeating this and other lies, insisting that they are true.
Fits of Spiteful Anger
McCain often appears angry and irrational saying things that don't make sense. He attempts to explain his constantly changing positions are approaching gibberish. Especially since he insists that his statements have been consistent throughout.
Ten Warning Signs of Alzheimers1. Memory loss
2. Difficulty performing familiar tasks
3. Problems with language.
4. Disorientiation to time and place
5. Poor or decreased judgment
6. Problems with abstract thinking
7. Misplacing things
8. Changes in mood or behavior
9. Changes in personality
10. Loss of initiative
I took a lot of stuff out of context, so please read the article.
And some of these issues could be leftovers from solitary confinement in North Vietnam, getting his news from Karl Rove surrogates and independent democrat Joe Lieberman and drinking lite beer.

I don't know. I hear he has narcissistic personality disorder, just like Clinton.

Bush said that first, I think.
I know, either way its disgusting. How can either of them get away with saying something like that?
I could bore you with a philosophical tirade about freedom and tyranny, or try and explain to you what new horizons are suddenly open to me, but I doubt you would understand and if you did it might frighten you. That amuses me.

Isn't Senator McCain making three or four times as many mistakes as Senator Obama ?
This is also important when those mistakes are with regard to foreign policy, which McCain's campaign is touting as one of McCain's major strengths.

I don't know, I've seen several Obama flubs and haven't paid any attention to McCain since I don't plan on voting for the guy.

Yeah it's hard to tell weather this is obama or McLame.

Doesn'treally matter, it worked fine for Ronald Reagan...all he has to do is read the teleprompter his corporate sponsers set up while they pay congress what to legislate.

From what distance? You would have a significantly different experience accordingly.

Honestly a lot of the behaviors McCain has shown are classic symptoms of someone suffering from PTSD and/or alcoholism.

It may not be productive but a spade is a spade is a spade.
McCain may not have alcoholism & he may not have post traumatic stress disorder but he certainly shows symptoms attributable to either or both and given his personal history PTSD is not even a remote possibility.

Re: Does McCain have Alzheimer's or other dementia ?
I thought it was satire, but then I realised the writer is serious. WTF
The problem I have with discussing freedom is that people have been conditioned to expect "of me to tell you what to do" to follow it... inevitably they notice I don't ever get to that part, and they feel like I am trying to trick them.
Sometimes before replying to a topic, I think to myself: I am just so original!
