My first thoughts, as well.
This armchair physicianing of McCain is as low as the Swiftboating Kerry took.
Are presidential candidates required to make their complete medical records available to the public? (I think presidents are, so it would make sense that candidates are, too.)
So let's leave it until he officially gets the nom. Then we'll know for sure and can proceed from there. Until then, this particular brand of FUD is just making people look despicable.

McCane already submitted a 50,000 page document.
Obama texted a paragraph to Brian Williams.

Aw, he's no fun, he fell right over.
Unless you become as little children, there's no way you will believe this crap.

To make these things equivalent, you'd have to get a group of "physicians for truth" who claim that they personally have examined McCain and diagnosed him as a pathological liar and a syphilitic.
He can even take his son with him into the shower, where the boy cannot help but notice that Dad has a penis

Hey I already have them lined up with their signed affidavits.
"There were places in the world commemorating those times when wizards hadn't been quite as clever [as to refrain from doing magic when you knew how easy it was], and on many of them the grass would never grow again." Terry Prachett

Do they have to be equivalent in method in order to be equivalent in lowness?

Frankly, I'd bet a generic survey of those who shared some time in the Hanoi Hilton will have similarities, like PTSD. You'd think, anyway. Unless he's such a hero, that the torture etc. had no residual effect whatsoever.
I recall this weird movie back in the day that showed this poor SOB in N.Korea captivity. He maintained sanity by imagining the blueprint for his beautiful house for him and his beautiful wife, as a 'projection' on his cell wall.
Has anyone ever gotten deeply into that time with him? Seriously, I think it IS of some import.
We've been employing those some kinds of tactics around the world for a few years. A claim is on the table that such efforts bear fruit. We should be able to tell what the after effects are, after all.
Heck, the vehicle that made people notice Marilyn's acting was 'Niagara'. Hubby Joseph Cotten suffered Korean-war PTSD.
I'd like to know about his deepest, darkest secrets. If he is at all 'impaired' we should have that info. The 3am call and the nukular football are not wholly internal matters, are they?
John McCain is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life.

Brigid O'Shaughnessy: I haven't lived a good life. I've been bad, worse than you could know. Sam Spade: You know, that's good, because if you actually were as innocent as you pretend to be, we'd never get anywhere.
