Predictions on Obama's VP pick?

The decision should be announced in the next day or so.  Any guesses?

I'm predicting Evan Bayh, though he wouldn't be my choice.

Re: Predictions on Obama's VP pick?

I think Chuck Hagel would kick the McCain camp in the nuts.  a) Vietnam vet?  Check.  b) Friend of McCain?  Check.  c) Outspoken critic of the waging of the Iraq war?  Check.  d) would appeal to moderates?  Check.

Will it happen?  No, of course not.  Wouldn't mind seeing it though.

Well, it can't be a white man that anyone would actually want to be President (the Chris Rock theory).

Maybe he should pick Lieberman.

The latest rumour is Kerry.

My choice? Gah, this smurf is so hard to guess. Maybe Sam Nunn?

Re: Predictions on Obama's VP pick?

This guy thinks it's Biden:

]Within the last few hours I've spoken with two of the finalists for the role of Barack Obama's running-mate, and to two other sources who are close to the process.

My bottom line is this: Barring a big surprise or last-minute change of heart, the choice is likely to be Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee.

Biden can be smart when he's not shooting his unelectable mouth off.

I really doubt it'll be him.

I hope not Kerry. I don't want to be reminded in any way of elections passed.

You know what he should do? He should have a reality TV show to find his VP.

Re: Predictions on Obama's VP pick?

There's a rumor in my local paper about Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sibelius.
Could he select another woman to woo the Clintonistas?

And he'd also protect himself against the Chris Rock problem. The bastard racists would even more opposed to a woman in office than a black man.

That may be what makes him a good choice though. He would appeal to the proverbial "working class whites."

I personally don't like Biden in general though, but the VP is mostly for show anyway.

I've heard really good things about her, but it's hard to picture them going with a black man and a woman on the same ticket.

Anybody (besides Ralph Nader) think HRC might get the nod?

I think there's a chance, but I'm guessing someone boring like Bayh is much more likely.  I doubt it will even be Biden, though that's the buzz right now.

I think foreign policy credentials are probably viewed as more important by the campaign.   Why "financially conservative?"

Maybe "financially erudite" would be better... but that probably means conservative as well.

I can see foreign policy credentials as being important, but I suspect that most Americans are more worried about their pocketbook these days than they are about what's going down in Fallujah.
