It's a sorry day when we get spammed like dingxiuge did us.
I also noticed a very long delay in connecting to the pages vefore he was hitting this site hard. Any connection?

Yes, it looks like this site is being hit by many spambots. There are almost four times as many "guests" visiting this site right now as there are users visiting this site right now.
Bans of IP ranges would be a useful thing. I've had to ban several such IP address ranges at MacStack, especially from China and Russia.

I've seen it get downright ridiculous. Sometimes in the wee hours it's 30-40 'guests' and... me.
