Re: migration utility help!

All your home documents SHOULD be in your USERS folder, perhaps under a different username than your home folder.

What version of 10.5 is the new Pro running ?        Have you tried calling Applecare 1-800-APL-CARE ?

Re: migration utility help!

You shouldn't need to find anything. The migration assistant should find everything for you (unless you moved them from the default location)

About the privileges, use Disk Utility to repair permissions in the old Mac.

Re: migration utility help!

I believe the privileges have to have a change in file ownership, not a standard permissions fix.    A change in ownership can be done in the Finder "get info" window.  The trick is to do all of the subfolders.

Re: migration utility help!

If you migrate the Applications and your Home folder, then everything should migrate over.   BUT, your final cut pro will run a lot faster if you re-install it as an INTEL or UNIVERSAL BINARY version.

Re: migration utility help!

Oops  --- MY MISTAKE

From a G5 to G5, the Migration Assistant program should do all the work properly.  (never mind what I said about re-install.)

Cheers
