As long as it's over 500 you aren't cramped and can have lots of stuff!

I lived in West Africa in a country adjacent to Burkina Faso, so I can complain if I want to.

That's not where Haiti is!
I still believe in liberalism today as much as I ever did, but, oh, there was a happy time when I believed in liberals.

Of course, these "statistics" are easy to cite, I could go to a government website and get data which may or may not be adjusted temporally. . . but I do know that my parents bought their house for $22,000.00 in 1969 when they earning about $25,000.00 between them and my mom sold it for $90,000 eight years ago. . . but even in my own little anecdotal paradigm my dad wasn't earning the median.
Median then $33,338.00, house $22,000.00
Median now $44,922,00, same house $90,000.00
.
Your numbers aren't all comparable to each other. For 1969 you give a median real (inflation-adjusted) income figure, but not an inflation-adjusted home price. $22,000 in 1969 is the inflation-adjusted equivalent of roughly $103,000 in 2000, or $132,000 today.
If your parents were earning $25K in 1969, that's well above the median. It looks like the median household income in 1969 was around $7750 in that year's dollars.

... and for the rest of the argument, it is preposterous to say that people in the U.S. are not far, far, far better off than previous generations.

How's the family income been in the last few years, adjusted for inflation?

This link's discussion of health care is laughable.
