I dunno about Braveheart, but somehow I always end up watching Thunderheart when it's on. Oh, and Everything is Illuminated. Damn that movie's beautiful. Was a time it was on HBO every other hour. Haven't seen it lately tho.

Just like before I stopped changing the channels and watched the rest of the movie. this got me thinking of the movies I will watch again and again.
In no particular order
Braveheart
Fight club "Now a question of etiquette; as I pass, do I give you the ass or the crotch...?"
The Matrix, but only the first one
Kill Bill, again only the first one

Thanx for reminding me to watch Braveheart again. It's a good one.

Blade Runner The Theatrical or International Cut. Nostalgia evaporates (along with other things)when I view the Final Cut-sorry Ridley.

Terminator-just the 1st one.

The Egyptian (1954) Dvd, Fox??!!!

What Happened Was...(1994) video only

Forbidden Planet

and Vincent Price's Cry of the Banshee-not lately, lost the dvd

Have finally outgrown having to watch Ben Hur every time TCM has it on.

Re: movies you watch over and over

The Star Wars story arc:

Episode I:  A young Obi Wan Kenobi and a very cool looking Liam Neeson find a kid who can't act his way out of a wet paper bag.  There is a cool Pod race and a pretty good light saber battle at the end.  Oh, and there's Jar Jar Binks who is a bad, bad mistake.

Episode II:  Obi Wan Kenobi trains a young Anikan Skywalker to be a Jedi Knight.  There are some really horrible "love" scenes between Anikan and his girlfriend.  I mean really horrible, the lines seem to have been written by a child.  There are also some very boring scenes in, of all places, the smurfing Galactic Senate.  Meanwhile, Obi Wan goes off and has some pretty okay adventures.  This one ends with another light saber battle.

Episode III:  Things start to heat up, but it's still pretty boring, especially anything that features Anikan and his (now) wife.  Obi Wan gets to go on some more cool adventures, and we learn that the senator who was supposed to be a good guy is actually -- THE HEAD BAD GUY!!  This one also ends with a light saber battle and the birth of Luke, Leia and Darth Vader.

Episode IV: Finally the story starts to get good.  We meet a young Luke Skywalker as he goes off to save Princess Leia with the help of an older Obi Wan and some new friends.  Although there is a light saber battle in this one, it ends with the thrilling destruction of the Death Star.

Episode V:  The best of the bunch.  Things get ugly for our heroes.  This one also ends with a light saber battle and we find out that Darth Vader is really Luke's father!!!!

Episode VI:  Our heroes are aided by a smurfing bunch of Teddy Bears.  This one ends with a light saber battle, the destruction of another Death Star and a really crappy song.

Re: movies you watch over and over

Here's a question. Does anyone own a movie on dvd that they like alot but don't watch it much (as a dvd). However, when it comes on tv you watch it with regularity whenever it comes on?

Starship Troopers II really sucked.
It was basically a slasher film - but with a worse plot than most slasher films.

III was a little better, but was so predictable it was pathetic.

The original though is a favorite of mine.

You would think - but I swear, it's easier to let the commercial interests do the pausing.
