As stupid as caps are that one is slightly more reasonable than some of them. Still glad I don't have Comcast.

I think that that number is perfectly fine.  I'm surprised the cap wasn't implemented years ago.  The cap is a necessary thing to ward off those bastards who like ruining things for everybody else.

Great comcast, if people use so little internet anyway, why the hell would you cap the internet then?

wow, I exceeded their median monthly usage in a day, according to the records my router keeps for me.
Good thing is that I'll have more than a month's worth of usage data by october 1, so I'll know if I need to change my habits.

I have records going back to august 20, when I upgraded my DDWRT firmware, and have downloaded 12 something gigabytes since then. Even for me, 250 gigs sounds like alot.

Haha - Here in NZ, my monthly cap is 5GB and I am pretty sure that is one of the top of the line plans.

I know they were but they were ordered by the SEC (I think) to stop capping torrent traffic speed. They probably did the blanket size cap to get back.

A season's worth of 720p video can reach 20 GB.

250 Gb is not a bad cap, you want ridiculous, try this one.

In Japan people think nothing of posting a copy of their latest home movies (in HD!) so that gramma can see her grandchildren. In the US we don't even think of this being possible because of our caps.

If gramma wants to see the grandkids, there are better options than that, like video chat. They can always mail a dvd.
