itunes, X2 playlists

Hey everyone,

Has anyone seen an app or program that will allow me to remove double up songs out of itunes??? I've just upgraded my hard drive on a macBook and for some reason I've got 2 of every song on my list. Now I've got about 5000 songs and I've no intention of deleting each one at a time.

So is there a program out there that will allow me to remove my double ups???

Cheers.

Re: itunes, X2 playlists

It's built-in. View>Show Duplicates. I don't like it much but it might work for you.

I bet if you turned on the Date Added column (View>View Options... or right click or ctrl click the column header bar) and sorted that way you'd find that all the doubles were added right about the same time. Course, you'll have to figure out which double links to the set of files you want to keep. To do that, hit cmd+r. This will show you the file associated with a song in iTunes.
