Re: FREE BEER!

The problem I have with discussing freedom is that people have been conditioned to expect "of me to tell you what to do" to follow it... inevitably they notice I don't ever get to that part, and they feel like I am trying to trick them.

Re: FREE BEER!
Free beer? Where? Is it behind that bottle of water?
No kids in your neighborhood, eh? That wouldn't last 5 minutes on my stoop.

Don't want to pay your plumbing bill, eh?
...having nothing in them of the feelings or principles of '76, now look to a single and splendid government of an aristocracy, founded on banking institutions and moneyed incorporations under the guise and cloak of their favored branches of manufactures, commerce and navigation, riding and ruling over the plundered ploughman and beggared yeomanry. -- TJ

Re: FREE BEER!
Here's the story:
My roasting facility is around 2500 sq. ft., of which I use, oh, I don't know... a lot less. Being a musician we use part of the space to store stuff, I've got a couple of pianos, a Hammond C3 organ, guitars, basses, amps, lights, sound system, etc. and there's still room to spare. I also have an unused office with its own entrance that I was renting to a web guy who has his own band.
For a while we were allowing him to rehearse here (for a little extra $$), but the band recently broke up and I opted to have them move all their stuff out by the beginning of the month, which was yesterday. I decided to look and see what they had left behind and I found the unopened bottle of Mich Golden Draft Light. I wouldn't drink MGDL if it was the only beer left on the planet, so I decided to put it a "FREE" sign on it and put it outside my door.
And it's still there this morning!

Maybe you should have set out a few cans of Sterno instead.

yeah. Just because it's free doesn't make it good, or even worth consuming.

Re: FREE BEER!
I would assume it's been tampered with, and possibly poisoned. Otherwise, I'd at least "try" any free beer scientifically deemed consumable.

Set it on the roof of your car like you forgot it. Be gone within the hour.

I wouldn't touch it either. If it wasn't skunked before you put it outside in its clear bottle, it is now.

I didn't know that michelob had enough hops in it to even be able to skunk.

Re: FREE BEER!
btw - supposedly that's the history of IPA - it was brewed to prevent it from skunking on the trip from England to India.
Or something like that.
