Round my parts very few communities the size of Wasilla, even have "mayors" we usually call them "Village Presidents". Wasilla's population is 50% less than the tiny village I live in.
Basically her main experience is being in charge of a rambling trailer park.

We have a few: Satellite Beach, Indian Harbour Beach, Cape Canaveral. However most Cites in our official Metro area of an estimated 534,359 people are at least twice that size. Most towns are half the size and the one village has just over 700 people.
There are a few unincorporated areas and of them, Barefoot Bay, Micco, Mims, South Patrick Shores are the size of Wasilla while Merritt Island, Port St. John, Suntree, & Viera are quite a bit larger and every thing is is quite a bit smaller.
I myself live in a city of over 100,000 people.
