Starcraft: Me vs Computer = My town in flames
There has to be a simple strategy for this.
I'm Protoss playing against machine as Zerg. By the time I hit their base they have 2 sunken colonies and zerglings. I've tried it with two gateways, 1 gateway, I've tried turtle and tech. When I do win (rare), it's a 30 minute game on normal speed. Usually though, about 12 lisks come and wipe me out.

The zerg are perfect for rushing and preventing rush while the protoss are not. The reason being that zealots are too expensive for an all out rush and a group of zerglings are perfect against a few zealots. I would recommend building a small defense before sending in the zealots/dragoons. You may also want to hop on bnet and play a few games and ask for advice while playing.

Zerg do seem to have an advantage with early game attacks.

When I have had success against the computer it's usually because I start building right outside their front door.
Scouting is tough too. How soon to scout, how many probes to send.
I would be posting this on battle.net but the forums were down.

Against the computer, I've had the most luck as Protoss by very quickly building 4-5 proton canon clusters at or near the choke points closest to my base. You have to keep on top of these, and replace them if/when they are knocked out by zerglings and/or hydralisks. Then I build the tech tree as fast as possible to get carriers, while hopefull starting a second base with defenses.
Well managed carriers can wipe out Zerg bases quickly, since you rebuild fighters knocked won rather than having to build a whole new carrier, and the carrier can stay out of range of air defences if you manage your forces judiciously.
base defense off the top is an absolute must.
From what I can tell, either way, you're screwed. Bad people are punished by society's laws, and good people are punished by Murphy's Law.

Makes sense. My problem was trying to play Protoss like Terran.
For the longest time I've been playing Terran against the computer (Zerg). From what everyone's saying, Prot is really a mid-game late-game strategy.
I'm going to give this another try.

You could just mass Zealots. Build 2-3 Gateways, and expand aggressively.

Bingo.
Choke points are the key. Think like a spartan and make their numbers count for nothing. Photon cannons with a handful of zealots should do the trick.

Let's review-
1. Scout zerg base and choke points
2. Build and defend choke points
3. Expand
4. Build up huge force
Another nice tip I found on battlenet was to spend money. I'd get killed bt with a huge bank account.

If you have over 300 of minerals or vespene gas, and you're not saving up to buy a building or high tier unit, you either need to build more units or build more pylons so you can build more units

I never really used protoss that much. Something about the zerg always cought my eye i like being able to move my food supply "overlords". Infested Terrans are wicked when used correctly. Everybody has their own strategy
SlackWare Linux.
