Track Pad mouse button is stuck on permanent click. help!

So the other day, I was eating a kilbasa that my friend's dad made for me and when I cut into it, it spit out some of the fat and juice onto the keyboard and track pad. Some of the liquid seeped under the trackpad and now that the fat hardened, the pad is on permanent mouse click position and I can't click or even tap the touch pad to do a click.

Anyone have a suggestion on how I can remedy this?

Put it in the sun or near a heat lamp upside down.  Maybe the fat will melt.    Have some paper towels standing by.  Wipe very gently.  If you wipe quickly, you are forcing the fat upwards into the trackpad.

"it" = the computer, not the hammer.

Maybe press it repeatidly; so as to wear it out...
You can allways dissasemble the top plate to check it; but there isn't a lot possible to do with the trackpad.

i tried heating it up with a blow dryer to melt the fat again, but that didn't work. it is still depressed in the down position. I may just buy a new one and use this one as a back up with a keyboard, mouse and external monitor.

If you can, good for you, but changing the top plate (mouse / keyboard) will be much cheaper. They should be possible to get at 50$ or less on eBay. There was also someone here that was complaining he had a gazillion of them.
