Smoking pot 2 weeks prior, causes fatal car crash?

http://www.jconline.com/article/2008101 … 9/81010016

A Crawfordsville teenager has admitted to smoking marijuana about two weeks before causing a two-vehicle crash a year ago that killed two of his classmates and an Indianapolis woman.

Tyler R. Sutton, 18, pleaded guilty this morning in Tippecanoe Superior Court 2 to three counts of operating a vehicle with a controlled substance causing death and feticide, all Class C felonies.

If Judge Thomas Busch accepts Sutton's plea with the Tippecanoe County prosecutor's office, at least two of those counts would have to be served concurrently - meaning the former North Montgomery High School student could spend 16 or more years in prison.

Too much stupid to comprehend. First, why would this idiot PLEAD GUILTY to this? It would be nearly trivial to find almost any doctor that could refute this. How did this even get this far?

Of course, if this kid is stupid enough to plead guilty to obvious bogus charges, maybe he should be segregated from the rest of society - just in case his strain of idiocy is contagious.

No doubt the prosecutor, eager to get this over and done with, struck some sort of deal with the foolish child.

There is no possible way in hell that smoking pot two weeks prior could have lead to the accident.

Score another one for Harry Anslinger.

Expect more of this as we get closer to budget time.

This story- true or not- will be used as often and with as much publicity as they can muster. No one will question. It is after all- about the children. All common sense get's swept under the rug when you have that on your side.

No wait- throw in some truth. . .

He had flashbacks because THC takes a month to metabolize in your body so naturally, he was still stoned while driving.

"Skunk" pot !

Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim.  Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet."  They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.

He also had an attack of the munchies. He was also going through serious cannibis withdrawal. Give the guy a break.

Re: Smoking pot 2 weeks prior, causes fatal car crash?

I'm surprised he could get out of his mom's basement long enough to pull this off. Obviously he was on his way to the local elementary school to get as many kids hooked as possible that way he could pay for his smack habit. He smoked pot so the next logical step- and the only one mind you, has to be heroin.

Look what pot does- so smurf all those people out there who see it as medicine.

...

His passengers, Megan M. Hinds and Jennah S. Smith, both 15, died at the scene.

Hinds had been 24 weeks pregnant at the time, which Sutton said he knew before the wreck. Feticide is defined under Indiana law as the intentional termination of a pregnancy.

This whole case is shot through with bullsmurf. Why the hell is he being charged with feticide? They can't be claiming he wrecked the car in order to terminate her pregnancy.

Dollars to donuts he's black and the girls are white.

Aw, he's no fun, he fell right over.

Unless you become as little children, there's no way you will believe this crap.

Though Sutton also admitted to smoking marijuana, he said today that it was his first and only time.

I'm assuming the other times he was just holding the joint for a friend.

Apparently, cannabis has a less adverse effect than alcohol on motorists. (While stoned, that is. This two week business is rubbish).

Cannabis isn't particularly dangerous while driving. Reaction time is slowed, but the drivers tend to realize this and drive more cautiously as a result.

When you hear statistics about people smoking pot and getting into accidents, the vast vast majority of those people were also drunk.

This guy's lawyer was obviously a moron... perhaps they are setting up the inevitable appeal?

Either that or there is something we arent being told... like he also had a high blood alcohol content when he was tested.  Either that or the US really is THAT stupid when it comes to pot.

That study doesn't make any mention of changes in reaction time only "tracking ability"
