Have they fixed MySQL for Leopard yet? Last I checked it wasn't working right on Leopard.

no idea, hope so...
wordpress seems to be the medium of choice for a lot of bloggers; is there a quality alternative?

If you're looking for quick and easy that will take you less than a minute, go with iWeb publishing to MobileMe.
If you still want to use WordPress and are stuck on the MySQL bit, I'd recommend using one of Marc Liyanage's pre-rolled packages to install it.

You're just trying to get me started on a list of other things that aren't working right on Leopard, aren't you?

Re: wordpress on leopard
Marc no longer creates a package, as the mysql community provides one. But he does provide good instructions for installing it. I haven't installed it in a good while, but I don't remember having too much trouble with the prebuilt package.

There are guys at work that have installed the MySQL package just fine. You might also look in to MAMP for XAMPP if you're not familiar with running a server. Me, I use a build from MacPorts (requires a little geek++).
