Battlestar Galactica overload

Three weeks ago I decided to pick up the show Battlestar Galactica and start watching it from the beggining. Since then I have watched the first 3 seasons, as well as the first half of season 4.

I've gotta say, every aspect of this show is amazing, the action, the plot, the characters, a high quality production all around. The character development blew me away, the multiple facets of their persona that was revealed throughout the show actual had me feeling emotion for their situation, I have never become this attached to a TV show.

Some of the moral dilemnas and issues faced in the show were absolute smurf, if you'll pardon my french.

I can't wait to see the final 10 episodes of the show, and while I know a large number of people are disappointed that the series is coming to an end, I for one believe that BSG needs to have an ending, and shouldn't just be dragged out for the sake of producing more episodes.

The big issue though is even trying to talk any non-geeky person into watching the show, without seeming like an ultra-nerd.

Any methods I should know of?

IRT Bat,

Okay, bidding on one of those items would be overload, although parking a Viper replica on your roof would be pretty funny if a satellite ever decided to take pictures of your neighbourhood.

It's a terrific show and I've found the best way to get someone into it is to invite them over for dinner and hve it accidentily going in the background.

You trick your friends in to watching TV shows?

You have to trick people into watching quality TV shows.

Anyways, SG-1 and DS9 sure as hell didnt start going down hill after 4 seasons. I think there could have been a couple more real good seasons before BSG needed to end, but meh.

The irony is that SG-1 went out on what was arguably their best season, but I suppose that is better than the alternative. I saw the last season as a return to their roots - where the humans were the underdog against a vastly superior force. I almost hate they brought the Ori in just to end the show on.

DS9 went to hell after they went to the long story arcs. It should have improved things, but instead it got overly political.

I wish we could see more Babylon 5 style story arcs. That was a well defined story done over 5 seasons. The ending was known, and planned for. There weren't many 'filler' episodes, and even the fillers were good. It was a shame they jerked around in season 4, and prematurely "ended" the series (as it threw in a bunch of continuity errors), but overall it was well done.
