WiFi reception
I am using a MacBook with an airport card. Is there a way to hook up a homemade "cantenna" to boost my WiFi reception?

Re: WiFi reception
unless you want to drill holes in your mac ... you will need an external wireless card.
http://www.cantenna.com/index.html is very helpful for what you are looking to do .

Re: WiFi reception
Thanks,
I've seen that site before. They suggest using a Hawking HWUG1A Wireless-G USB Adapter For Mac. Anyone have knowledge or experience with that product?

Re: WiFi reception
More nieve than above. I have just purchased a (old version) MacBook Pro and am unsure about the modem I should purchase to access the "free" Google wifi in my area. There is an google antenna just outside my residence.
Thanks - RMGAC

Re: WiFi reception
If the signal is strong enough just use the wifi card that is built into your macbook pro. If it isn't strong enough google wifi recommends this:

http://www.fon.com/en/
I actually got a free router from here a year or so ago, but I guess it was a promotional thing. The funny thing is that I never really got it to work, or even had a legitimate use for it, because I already had an Airport Express and Airport Extreme.
