A good omen?
Silly thought; I know it has nothing to do with reality. . . but
It's amazing what happens when the man at the helm really cares about what happens to everyone involved. . .
A US Airways flight crashed into the Hudson just after 3 pm. The FAA reports everyone, including one baby, is off safely. There are no life threatening injuries. There is a flight attendant with an arm fracture, a leg break, and some non-threatening cases of hypothermia.
I'm hoping that Obama's that man.

Re: A good omen?
Well there are people who say it's a good one, like the Survivors of Flight 1549: ‘It’s great to be alive today’.
One by one, passengers aboard US Airways Airbus A320 lined up to hail pilot Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger III for safely ditching the plane in the frigid waters of the Hudson River opposite midtown Manhattan. An apparent bird strike knocked out both of the plane’s engines shortly after takeoff from New York's LaGuardia Airport.
This good news at of what could of been a very bad situation had a great pilot. More info about the pilot here.
If we can get more good news in 2009 of what has been a very bad 2008, I think we will be O.K.

Come now. What are the odds that anyone on this planet could do a worse job than Bush?
And by the way I'm including plant life and unprocessed mineral ore.

I'm thinking of a specific Governor of Alaska....
Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet." They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.

Haha, yeah, I was thinking that was a bit ridiculous as well. He certainly wasn't the WORST President humanly possible.

He still has a few days left ...

Wow, I've been here 8 years, and I didn't even open the drawer to my very nice desk.
Hm, the drawer seems stuck. Why won't it open?
Ah yes, this must be a security enhanced drawer. I wonder what's inside. I could ask how to open it, but that would be embarrassing. Let's see. What's this red button? Ah yes, that must be what opens it ...

Certainly not the WORST President humanly possible just the worst of the 43 we've had so far including Andrew Johnson who they tried to impeach and remove twice and William Henry Harrison who died a month after he too office and Andrew 'Indian killer' Jackson.

It's not just the president, now we will have an incompetent president with an equally incompetent congress. This combination has the potential to turn this country into another France.

If Bush had died after a month - or even six months - in office, he would be remembered today as the last president of the golden age.
At least by the few people in the slave pits who can remember back that far.

Obama's had about three fewer business failures than your boy. How's that for competence?

Having an incompetent President and an equally incompetent Congress didn't turn this country into France between 2001 and 2007...
