Obviously, we should go by the Founding Fathers' guidance on nuclear weapons and Middle Eastern tensions.
Oh, wait, they didn't have any. They were only wise enough to know that things change and would inevitably progress beyond their sight, and write allowances for adapting to such changes into the Constitution- which is better than most.
I doubt they foresaw Jdude's Abrams.

I do not believe, for a variety of complex reasons, that nuclear devices are protected for private ownership under the Second or any other amendment.
