Quicksilver
Someone gave me strip G4 Quicksilver case. The guy took out the case fan and the bracket that holds the fan. I got my hands on the fan, is there anyway to hold that fan in place with out the bracket? The case fan not to be confuse with the fan attach to the heat sink.

Re: Quicksilver
Depends on how it's mounted. Could try to rig something up yourself. I'm guessing its the big fan under the PSU that sucks air from over the PCI slots. That thing is very similar to a giant slot blower. I have a Quicksilver but I haven't really taken apart that area to check.
Likely would be cheaper to rig it somehow than to find the original parts. You planning to rebuild it or use the case to for a custom rig project?

Re: Quicksilver
Just rebuilding what was originally in there. I did manage to find that bracket at one of the online mac stores, but have not order it yet. Nothing on ebay so far. I just may rig something thing, but not sure about that yet.

Re: Quicksilver
I got it all put together and working. The power button turn on the mac, but normally there is a light is on when the mac is on with the power button. I see no light, but the mac is on. I did get the fan installed, just hope I have it turn the right way. Kinda feels like it is.

Re: Quicksilver
Well if theres an exhaust you can feel out the back then yeah.
Light must have burned out or something. As long as it works. Just going to have trouble if you had to use the programmers button. But that you wouldn't use unless you had to. Most folks never do.
