Since I just mentioned my use of illegal drugs in another thread...
...I s'pose this is as good a time as any to mention the fact that I've been clean and sober for well over a month.
Voluntarily.

Those of you who remember Bong_Shady and/or my more recent love-affair with crystal methamphetamine will surely appreciate the sheer unexpectedness of this news.

It's commendable that you're trying to quit, but post again when you've been clean for 5 or more years. 1 month is nothing for a crank fiend.
You are changing your circle of friends, aren't you?

Heh,
And I just started smoking pot again after a 25 year lay-off.
But...Good for you. White powders in general are bad for the soul and should be avoided.

Good luck.
Lucky to get off the meth so far as it is.
Scary stuff indeed.
All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one Pepsi, and she wouldn't give it to me.

Good Luck Bren, Kicking my addiction was no easy task. Just keep away from the stuff and people that push it and youll do fine. Also, take up another hobby. Like smoking or drinking. Thats what I did and while those are bad habits they arent nearly as bad as methamphetamine.

Bad bad advice. That isn't taking up a hobby. That's trading one addiction for another. I can't believe you'd even suggest he should substitute alcohol for meth.

Im going off my experience justine. Im not saying become a heavy drinker. The point I was trying to make was that having a beer occasionally instead of snorting a line is probably a better alternative.
I also found quitting drinking to be much easier than quitting meth. But your right, it was bad advice. Everyones milage will vary and taking my advice could result in you picking up another bad habit in the place of your first one.

Thanks for chiming back in, and as a recovering addict, i would never suggest someone take up drinking or anything else to replace an addiction. Bren's been an addict for at least as long as he's been posting here. He probably shouldn't even be quitting on his own.

Alcohol is poison to most real addicts because the primary effect of booze is to lower ones inhibitions and self control and once an addict gets drunk suddenly some of their actual drug of choice can seem like a good idea.
Alcohol is the number one cause of drug relapses.

It is possible to quit on ones own however justine is right and finding a support group who share your same goal would benefit you greatly. While going a month without using isnt really that long of a period of time it shows that you have the right mindset. I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say best of luck and keep at it.

I would recommend going to.Narcotics Anonymous meetings. Not only is it great support but NA has some of the coolest people you could hope to meet.

Just think of all the money you're saving.
It still makes me mad thinking of the amount of money I wasted on that smurf. Also, exercise.

You have to be stupid to even try meth, heroin, and a few other drugs.
In related news, I'm still smoking pot and loving it. Actually, I'm vaping not smoking now and I've never been happier or healthier. In fact, I highly recommend vaporizing over smoking. I just got one of these. I have had the opportunity to use it extensively and it works incredibly.

As used by Olympic swimmers?

Phelps is old school with that bong.
Vaping is great. No smoke and the vaper should taste like the stuff you're smoking and be released as vaper with the same pleasant smell. Since it is not smoke the smell is minimal and disappears very quickly making ideal for indoor use. Plus nobody knows what it is so you could have this thing next to your Mac and nobody (unless they used) would know what it was for. And if someone should ask, you can say it is for "aroma therapy", which it can also be used for.
Here's my SSV - its set up in my cellar:
Save about $400 and get this instead of the Volcano.

Good luck with your recovery. Quitting cigarettes was hard enough for me 6 years ago. You just have to have a strong willed personalty. Or hit rock bottom with little choice but to change or live with the bleak consequences of hard drug use.

Its' the best mid range glass on glass vaporizer on the market and the best vape period at this price point. If I didn't get this one I would have resorted to the Volcano which is $530. The price is worth the health benefits in the long run. If used properly, a vape blocks 95% of all carcinogens, whether tobacco, weed, whatever.

I wonder if that vaporizer helps or hinders suspected anti-carcinogen effects Pot smoke may have on the lungs?
