In order to limit M|LF's liability, we haven't been allowed to discuss it on the forums - for a long time. Has that changed?

dv, i don't think it was a liability thing about talking about drugs. It ws that there were a lot of 13 and 14 year olds on the forums and this was considered a family forum. There's no legal liability just talking about drugs, as far as i can see, unless someone starts a discusiion on how to manufacture/grow them.

This why we should have an adult forum.
Before I hear any backlash about allowing this, I find this topic much more acceptable than threads about underaged drinking and we've had our share of those. Just sayin..
Have there been any talks about making an adult forum?
It sounds like a good idea.

The reality is I'm unwilling to let the government manipulate me by legislating morality. Using marijuana should not be illegal on any level and the real crime is that it is. Especially since vaporizing gives the same high as smoking (more so imo) without 95% of the health risks.
Marijuana is a 100x more efficient than other naturally made products, making its cultivation much safer for our planet:
I don't follow laws based on morality as this is personal and should have nothing to do with the government. I think the ridiculous resources that bush put into shutting down grow opps approved by CA voters will be thankfully abandoned. I think there are more pressing issues at the moment.

Yep,
The money that has been spent in the war on reefer has been wasted in two ways:
A: Spending so many billions to try to eliminate something that should have never been illegal in the first place and...
B: Spending all that money and failing so completely to impact the availability of pot.
My little anecdote:
I am a middle aged man who hadnt smoked pot in 20 years. I got a hankering to get some pot for a birthday a couple of years ago. I had no idea at all where to get some but set to looking.
From the moment I left my house on this ques to the moment I was returning to my home, bag in pocket, was less than 4 hours and I live in Oklahoma, a state with very strict anti-pot laws.
If I, an out of touch middle aged man with no connections can go out and find pot so damn easily and quickly after 30 years of a massive government propaganda and enforcement campaign they really just need to give it up already.
It's been a very expensive social experiment that has failed miserably.

Yes - Marijuana should be legal.
However, choosing what laws to follow and what laws to obey is a very slippery slope.
If you really do need it for medical reasons, under the supervision of a qualified practitioner, smurf the law. Otherwise, obey the law and try to get it changed. It's a lot easier to change a law if you don't demonstrate disregard for the law.

Well, like I think I said (or maybe I didn't), Mass voters approved overwhelmingly to decrim possession of up to an once. The fine is totally civil as it is basically the same as a speeding ticket. I could be walking down the street smoking a joint as I walk pass a cop. All they can do is (if they feel like it) is issue a civil citation no different than a speeding ticket. I think its a $100 fine.
In fact, I just read that the Yes on Two vote that was approved here in Mass is so vague, that technically you could establish a business where ingesting marijuana was okay. Its sort of like this analogy: its illegal speed but you can drag race in private facilities. Same with firing a weapon. You get the point/or possibly joint in this case! ; In fact, this caused one town (Framingham) to pass a bylaw banning businesses catering to pot smokers so they wouldn't suddenly pop up. The response from our legislatures is that the law reversal was made purposely vague as to leave it up to cities and towns on how they want to address this possible aspect.
Hey, at least we are going in the right direction. Dam liberal/independent Northerners!

Re: Since I just mentioned my use of illegal drugs in another thread...
This was in the paper today: It looks like Mass has started a trend up north here. But I am cautiously optimistic as you read further you can already see the extremies getting their panties in a bunch. Go drink your six pack and drive into a tree or something!
We all know that the farmerkevs in the midwestern states could make a killing growing it. Many farmers do already illegally. Can you say, "HUGE missed revenue in the form of taxes?" But then again, there is the other side, the side where law enforcement agencies, lawyers, drug companies, liquor Co., paper, you name it, all have a vested interest in keeping marijuana illegal and lobby the Feds to keep the pressure on states to do so. PATHETIC!
Interesting that this article points out that decrim was started in motion in the 70s but stopped suddenly. Although the article doesn't state so, it had to have been Nixon's "War on Drugs" propaganda machine that stopped the movement, stomping on States rights. Finally, "We the People", are being heard loud and clear. Lets keep it moving as there are a lot of otherwise outstanding people who choose to indulge and should not have their careers ruined b/c of something so trivial. Most people I know (that don't smoke) feel this same way.
One of the big issues stated in the article is that since it is a civil matter, the police do not have the power to arrest, and therefore, people can refuse to produce or give ID. But in the article, those in favor of the decrim efforts point out that this is just an excuse to roll back the wishes of the people. smurf, the city where I live (Methuen) seems like they are attempting to do so and the city next to mine (Lowell) wants to make an arrest-able bylaw which is unheard of and is already creating outrage. People in the article say it has little chance if any of being approved. In the article others pointed out that similar laws (in terms of not having to produce ID for civil matters) are in place for public drinking, jaywalking, etc, etc, etc, and there aren't any concerns on that. Makes you scratch your head and go hmmmmm?

Please do not argue for the legalization of Marijuana based upon the ability to tax it.
When it is legalized, it should be no more taxed than tomatoes and potatoes.

why should it be taxed less than alcohol or tobacco?

Or alcohol or anything else taxed because it is viewed as nonessential. I really don't see the logic on that one. You aren't going to be buying weed and cooking it to feed your fam. Not that there's anything wrong with that. *kidding*

I haven't lost any teeth to meth, if that's what you mean. I never had all my teeth to begin with, however. For some reason, I never grew adult teeth to push out my two lower-front baby teeth, so the dentist had to knock 'em out and put in a permanent bridge of false ones in their stead. Others were knocked out in order to make room for a bunch of re-arranging and pushing around that my orthodontist felt the need to do.
As to this subject of the soul:
