Illinois governor says Burris should resign
‘It was a gigantic mistake for him,’ Quinn says for senator to take seat
updated 12 minutes ago
CHICAGO - Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn says Sen. Roland Burris should resign his post for the good of the state.
Quinn said Friday that his fellow Democrat, Burris, is an honorable man. But he says controversy surrounding Burris' appointment has cast a shadow over his service in the Senate.
"It was a gigantic mistake for him (Burris) to take the appointment in the first place," Quinn told a news conference.

I agree, he should.

And then after he dies, someone chisel into his monument that he only served a short time - and was appointed, not elected...
It is an odd thing, but every one who disappears is said to be seen at San Francisco. It must be a delightful city, and possess all the attractions of the next world.

Political witch hunt !
Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet." They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.

Sounds like the 38th president...

In case people are unaware of it, here is an article on Burris' "Monument" to himself.

Should Blago have appointed anyone? Definitely not, tho I'm a little surprised that since he did, he didn't go all the way and appoint himself. It was effin' gold, after all...
Should Burris have accepted? I doubt it, given the circumstances.
Should he have been more upfront during the Blago hearings? Yeah. Took the oppo to let things slide when the questioning turned. Oops.
Should he resign? Hmm... I'm split. Part of me just wants to be shut of the whole business and get on with business rather than see more upheaval on the Hill. Quinn's got a reformer rep to live up to. iDunno.

Burris should go. I'd bet John B. Anderson would take the post and everyone knows he is clean as new snow.

The White House (read that as President Obama has directed a spokesperson to say) has stated that Burris “should take some time this weekend,” and think about his future. http://thehill.com/leading-the-news/whi … 02-20.html
A criminal indictment is coming, the way I see things.
