Powerbook G4 - No Video
So, I've got this 12'' G4 (867 mhz) that has no output to the screen. I tried swapping a new screen in (by just plugging it into the plug on the logic board - is that the only connection necessary for video output?), but it didn't do anything. I would try external video, but the only mini-DVI converter available to me is the newer Macbook style one...
Ideas? I was thinking logic board, assuming that the main screen plug is the only one that I needed to hook up to test the other screen...

Re: Powerbook G4 - No Video
I have a similar problem with my iBook G3 "dual usb". My video has not gone completely out, but if the screen is in the wrong position it will go black. Also, there is always green and purple streaks across the screen. I have been told by a few people that it is the logic board. I thought about replacing it but was warned that the solder joints are very tiny and could be tricky to fix. I hear logic boards are kinda pricy too. Not saying it is the same problem you are having, but the "symptoms" sound the same.

Re: Powerbook G4 - No Video
I had the same problem with a 15" PowerBook G4 and it turned out to be the screen itself, which you've ruled out. I was able to test with an external display, though, and confirm that the video hardware did work. As it is, I would second Alien's suggestion.
FYI: the 867 MHz 12" PowerBook G4 has a Mini VGA port, not Mini DVI.
