Unlicensed music on iPhone?
Is unlicensed music allowed on the iPhone? I can't remember the last time I paid for music (actually, I can - Marshal Mathers LP by Eminem, when it was just released). And I've accumulated quite the collection of music.
Thanks in advance!

Mp3 music and other non-drm music will play. DRM music will not play without a license. More importantly, DRM music from non-iTunes stores will not play without conversion to a non-DRM format.

I've never come across a DRM-formatted music file. I've come across MP3, MP4, MPG and AAC (all when downloaded from LimeWire).

Re: Unlicensed music on iPhone?
If those files were published as free content they will play just fine.
If they were illegally shared the music will report itself, along with all of your personal information, directly to the artist and then brick the iPhone. This all happens without the cooperation of Apple as this is just how infringing media performs.
That and your personal ethics should keep unlicensed content off of your device.

So how do I tell them apart? I would imagine it won't say 'SongName.DRM' haha.
