I think it just ignores the post.
I think of it as a fancy swear filter, but instead the bad word is the person's entire post.

Thanks. I kinda figured that. It's the same way in chat. Eventually the person gets the message, though.
Is that why you never return my calls? 
The storm starts when the drops start dropping. When the drops stop dropping, the storm starts stopping.

Actually it does block out everything, including their avatar.
I'll be messing with the images a bit, and I've also got to make sure that it's not possible to block admins or mods. 
Hard work may not kill you, but why take chances?

Yes, a placeholder is inserted. The only thing it contains is the username and a message letting you know they're being ignored, and a link to view the message.
Hard work may not kill you, but why take chances?

Suggestion: The Ignore button (which most of us will hardly ever use) is right next to the Quote button (which we use all the time). It might be better to move Ignore down to the bottom row, where the user's profile info is.

Yes! Excellent idea! I have nearly ignored people several times while trying to quote them!
