Joss Whedon? Isn't he the little wuss who played Wesley Crusher?
Kidding.
Joke.
I'd like him a lot better, though, if his stupid space-western didn't begin every episode with actual country 'n' western music.

WTF? That song is awesome, he sings it himself. It's the whole point, it paints the picture of the universe that is and the earth that was.
Wil Wheaton is an awesome guy BTW.

Re: Terminator: The Summer Glau in her Underwear Chronicles
No, Joss wrote it himself, but he was smart enough to get someone else to sing it. If you heard the promo version he cut that was on the DVD set, you would understand.
Aw, he's no fun, he fell right over.

Doesn't matter. It's a good song.
And so is "The Hero of Canton".

OK I got to thinkin' and just found myself watching two episodes of Firefly. That country music still sucks, though, as does the whole "Wild West" cowboy aesthetic. It's an above-average show, but it could have been so much better if the music had been exclusively gabber-core or deep house and all the characters dressed like it was the 1970s instead of the gold rush era.
Just sayin'.

Neither did Buffy or Angel...I'm not quite as impressed, but even I know you're not supposed to mention his 'body of work' without at least a passing nod to Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. (google ' joss whedon dr horrible ' for more results incl video).
C'mon folks, most of you are younger than I. Let's keep up here.![]()
So you're saying you hate Dr. Horrible?
No, I just don't think Whedon is quite the Second Coming. Talented, sure, and I brought up Dr. Horrible as something to include in his ouevre.
I want more Dr. Horrible. More Neil Patrick Harris. NPH is the greatest actor who ever lived or ever will live. And this is the proof: http://www.hulu.com/watch/53001/saturda … wser-theme
See if you can locate the podcast of "Wait Wait- Don't Tell Me" where NPH guested. He's hilarious.
Star Trek set the precedent that every TV show that followed set in space must be 'Wagon Train To The Stars' or tell the reason why.
Directors/auteurs that followed are sometimes a mite overly influenced by Carpenter/O'Bannon's "Dark Star." Listen to that theme song and understand.

Must've been quite a disappointment having most of the rest of the FF cast doing Halo 3 voiceovers, listening in vain to all the female Marines listening for that voice... :dreamymax:

Re: Terminator: The Summer Glau in her Underwear Chronicles
I love the fact that it's so "racy" because she's in her underwear, but if she walked through the scene in a bikini it wouldn't have mattered. It still would have been very pleasant, however.

Re: Terminator: The Summer Glau in her Underwear Chronicles
A bikini would have, presumably, had the same effect on John Connor (and us).
Actually, cyborg Cameron wouldn't have bothered with the frilly things and marched right trough the room dressed the way she was on the day she was manufactured.

Re: Terminator: The Summer Glau in her Underwear Chronicles
Shirley Manson's T-1000 (or whatever the Hell version she is) character is also pretty hot. It's curious, though, that she's been hunting terminators in order to reverse-engineer their technology. This implies some lack of cooperation or hidden motive, 'cause you'd think Skynet woulda sent her back in time already possessing all the technical knowledge it needed for her to have.
Equally curious is her concern with having that former-federal-agent dude teach the new, self-aware computer about God and morality and stuff. Not to mention her own awkward steps toward being a good mother to "her" daughter.
Add in Cameron doing things like secretly practicing ballet when nobody's looking, and one could almost get the impression the machines have realized that they're trapped in a causal loop with John Connor and -because neither side can ever decisively win or lose- they are slowly, almost unwittingly moving towards reconciliation, as seen in The Matrix Revolutions and Battlestar Galactica.
Wait, did I just take a thread about Summer in her panties and veer it way off the deep end into fanboy speculation about what's gonna happen next in a Sci-Fi series?
Just shoot me now. And this time, set your phasers for "kill."
And please don't bury me with Mr. Spock ears, or wearing that full-body Jar-Jar Binks costume.

How do we know that's not what bikini's look like in the future she comes from? Maybe she's going swimming.
Though I do love how she has no sense of modesty.
And I know it was a ratings grab, for all I care they can do that every other episode.
