Connecting Verizon Westell DSL Modem to Airport Extreme Base Station
Seems like it should be straight forward - configure base station to match DSL modem. Connect all cables, and access wirelessly!
Couldn't make it work - myself, or with the help of Verizon Tech support. Any ideas?

JK... I hesitate to try to answer your question since the potential list of problems is unmanageable. We need more information. What was working before? What have you just added? What is still working? What is not working?
I can _guess_ at your situation. I guess that you had the DSL modem working with a valid internet connection and you were able to connect to the DSL modem using an ethernet cable to your Mac. You then added a Base Station Extreme and tried to configure it using the Airport Utility on your Mac over the ethernet port. You then tried to connect to the Base Station over wireless but cannot. IF this is your situation, and I had to do a lot of guessing to come to that conclusion, then my next question is can you connect to the internet from your Mac using the ethernet port from your Mac to your Base Station?

Re: Connecting Verizon Westell DSL Modem to Airport Extreme Base Station
You're right about your guess - I had internet access thru an ethernet cable, but when adding/configuring the base station, I didn't have wireless access.
I'm out of town, but your suggestion is a good one - I will try to access the internet via an ethernet cable from the base station.
Thanks

JK... If connected to the base station using wired ethernet works, then we have it narrowed down configuring your computer for wireless access
Let us know how it goes and good luck.

Re: Connecting Verizon Westell DSL Modem to Airport Extreme Base Station
If you had your Mac connected to your DSL modem and then tried to connect the AirPort Base Station (APBS), it may be that your DSL modem is set to recognize only the first device it is attached to. You usually can fix this by turning off the DSL modem then back on and connecting it the APBS. I hesistate to suggest this because it would seem to me that the Verizon Tech support guy should have suggested this fairly early in your call.

Don't be so certain. The first echelon isn't always that up to speed.
