Towards the end of his approximately 40-minute taping, the president talked about how he's gotten better at bowling and has been practicing in the White House bowling alley, even bowling a 129.
"That's very good, Mr. President," Leno said sarcastically.
It's "like the Special Olympics or something," the president said.
When asked about the remark, the White House said Obama did not intend to offend.
Whoa! That was out of character. I have no doubt that he didn't intend to offend (what politician does?). But, wow. That's a gaffe and a half. I'm just trying to imagine the ruckus if, say, Cheney had said that.

Oh yeah liberal media. It was a self depreciating crack. He was basically saying he couldn't have done much worse if he had a legitimate handicap. Lord knows some of my physical mannerisms as well as certain involuntary acts bely my actual intelligence and make me look and feel like I belong in Special Olympics from time to time.

If it has anything to do with the site I linked, I haven't seen it. The one time I tried it really was down for maintenance. Now I'm a-scared to. Ann Coulter... :shiver: This thread brought it to mind.
I only found it from being the link at top of page atm at the INQ. I figure the extra traffic from that crashed their server.

No response was received.
I was forced to shoot them out of season.

My mom volunteered with the Special Olympics once, and their badminton players were amazing.

I was going to say something similar. I mean, I know they post pretty damn good track and field scores - certainly better than most non-special folks could ever do.
Do you know if they have different categories/brackets for people with different disabilities? (To avoid mismatching, say, a physically well-off high functioning autistic vs. a paraplegic or something.)
