Re: Funny Microsoft ad making me chuckle
Gaming Laptop is an oxymoron if there ever was one.
Personally I find a compromise between performance and portability/longevity is the best way to go.
In my situation I have one machine, so I opted to spend more on a 15.4" laptop (less than a MBP mind you), to get myself a machine that can run all the games I want to play when I have it plugged in, while still giving me enough battery life.
That being said, I've never found any company that can rival an Apple notebook's design and sturdyness.

Strudiness? Piffle.
The Wallstreet series could be used to drive nails, and even Dell's older models (5+ years) are pretty damned solid. (I see the D610s, for example, outlasting the machines purchased to replace them.)
They're all crap nowadays. It's done in the name of not weighting 8 pounds, which I guess is a valid tradeoff, but still crap. Crap!

Still, they feel sturdy. My laptop outer casing is this very flimsy plastic that will bend if I put pressure on it.

For Dell it depends on the line. The Inspirons are crap. The Latitudes aren't too bad, nor are the mobile Precisions. The ThinkPads are still pretty solid - and they're not to heavy. If I were to not get another Mac laptop, I'd probably buy a ThinkPad.
Laptops can be decent gaming machines and still be portable. Not everyone insists on running on max settings with all options cranked...

The advantage of a Mac is that it can more safely surf the web from the Mac side, yet still run Windows only apps. Protection plus versatility. You really get your money's worth.

So before Boot camp and/or virtualization, you didn't?

What's the point of Freecell if you can't run it with max FX?

Before BC or virtualization it was more problematic to do both.

Inorite? I thought the whole point of using a Mac was that I wouldn't need to run Windows apps...

I will admit, I do like the update to Freecell in Vista/Win7...

I know I got to stop carrying around 2 laptops on vacations and trips when I got my macbook.
I have 2 apps that I can't use in OSX ... one is VAGCOM: it allows you to interface with VWs and Audis to change settings and read codes.
the other one is Castle Link: Basically the same as VAGCOM only for ESCs on RC cars planes boats ect that use Castle Creation's ESCs
Oh and for Access
for work
All work fine in Fusion.
2.66Ghz QuadCore-Nehalem w/24"LED CD ---2.2Ghz BlackMB---15" 2.4Ghz MBP(work)
Dual 2.3Ghz G5 (4G Ram, 2x 250G HD)(10.5 server)--- 400Mhz G4 PM (10.4 Server)
1.5GHz Powerbook---1.6Ghz G5 iMac

Re: Funny Microsoft ad making me chuckle
Well FrameMaker is no longer made for the Mac. The last version 7.0 was only for Classic. So to use it (as I must professionally) I need Windows. And to play games. Steam doesn't support anybody except Windows. My favorites games are on there. No Mac support at all.
